Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is convinced that Benjamin Mendy has overcome his knee problems, according to reports.
The Citizens were all set to make a move for another left-back this summer, with Ben Chilwell being eyed, but the club have now put those plans on the backburner.
Whether that is because Mendy is ready to play 30+ games a season, we shall find out. Fans on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the story:

He will beat Arnold’s record of the most assists from a fullback in the history of the Premier League and with El Niño as backup, Zinchenko will move to his preferred role in midfield, probably a DM.
This would be nice

Since his £52m move from Monaco two years ago, the French international has made just 23 appearances for City.
Mendy injured his ACL early on during his first season at the club and had to have knee surgery once again back in November in order to recover from another injury.
He only played three times after having the operation, playing 80 minutes in the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton, as well as playing the full game versus Crystal Palace in the league back in April.
