The Villans have plenty of promising young players in their squad. The likes of Morgan Rogers, Samuel Iling-Junior, Lewis Dobbin and Jhon Duran all have great futures ahead of them.
However, the fact that they paid £18m for Philogene, just 10 months after selling him to Hull for £5m, tells you all you need to know.
It was reported that Barcelona were even interested in recruiting the 22-year-old, but he decided to continue his career in England instead.
Last season for Hull, Philogene scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists in 33 appearances and, if he replicates those figures in the Premier League, Villa’s decision to re-sign him will be justified.
