Gabriel Jesus was initially signed as the long term solution to an ageing Sergio Aguero – Pep may have said ‘we cannot replace him’ in regards to the Argentine superstar, but that’s definitely what he hoped Jesus would do.
Sadly, despite the glut of goals he scored for City, the club never really seemed to have faith in him to take Aguero’s mantle.
He put the ball in the net 58 times for Guardiola’s boys across 159 games. Now, Jesus plays his football for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
