‘Alright. Now We’re Talkin’ ‘Not Gonna Happen’ Fans React To Reports That City Made Enquiry For Star With £316m Release Clause

Manchester City have made an enquiry about the availability of Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix, according to reports in the UK.

The Citizens are actively looking to sign a new striker this summer and they do have a long-standing interest in the Portuguese international.

Pep Guardiola’s side were keen on snapping up Felix before Atletico signed him from Benfica last summer, but it looks as though they have taken another look at him. Fans on Twitter have been debating whether the 20-year-old would be a realistic signing:

You cannot fault City’s ambition but with a reported €350m (£316m) release clause, Atletico are under no pressure to sell their prized asset. Even if they were, his price tag would probably prove prohibitive, especially after an unconvincing first season in Spain.

Felix scored just eight goals and provided three assists in 35 appearances, which are not the sort of numbers you would expect from a €120m player.
