The rumours about Manchester City’s interest in Kylian Mbappe have surfaced once again. Reports in Spain say that the Citizens may consider a £268m (€300m) bid for the Paris Saint-Germain forward this summer.
It is believed that Pep Guardiola could lose up to three senior players at the end of the season. David Silva will be leaving for pasture’s new while Sergio Aguero’s contract will have just one year left to run next June.
Gabriel Jesus’s recent admission that he is impatient for more match time means City hierarchy have been considering their options, with Mbappe’s name being suggested. Fans on Twitter are, of course, excited by the speculation:
£268m lol. Crazy!! As good as he is I’m still unsure whether he has Neymar type attitude or Bernardo type attitude.

So we have a 34yr old DM playing CB. Our main LB is an attacking midfielder. Otamendi on the verge of being finished. And we want Mbappe?

If true, That means we selling Jesus, and possibly sane, though I think Sane and Mbappe together would be insane

268 is a price no one can live up to. The player or the club. Bad mojo. Promote from within. Let the kids play.

With Guardiola having cited financial restrictions for the club’s decision not to sign a new centre-back in the summer, shelling out on Mbappe looks highly unlikely.
Even though the club have held an interest in the 20-year-old in the past, the transfer funds required to sign him would be astronomical.
