Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to be reunited with Manchester City defender John Stones, according to reports in the English media.
The Gunners’ head coach worked with the centre-back for three years as Pep Guardiola‘s assistant, and it is reported that the Spaniard thinks he can help the 25-year-old realise his potential.
Supporters on Twitter are mostly behind City offloading Stones to Arsenal at the end of the season:

It is said that City would like to recoup as much as possible of the £50m they paid Everton for the player back in 2016, but whether that is realistic, it is up for debate.
Stones has struggled for form and confidence in recent months, with his error in the Carabao Cup final against Aston Villa summing up his recent malaise. Guardiola has opted to pick Fernandinho and Nicolas Otamendi ahead of him despite Aymeric Laporte being injured for most of the season, and with just ten league starts to his name this campaign, a move in the summer could well be on the cards.
