‘A Call From Guardiola Would Change Everything’ Report Claims 60M Rated Kane Alternative Would Want City Switch

Manchester City remain in contention to sign Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic, according to La Repubblica (via Sport Witness).

The Italian newspaper claim that the Serbian is prepared to stay with the Viola but they say “a call from Guardiola would change everything”.

City are believed to have previously tabled a €55m (£47m) offer for Vlahovic but that fell €15m (£13m) short of Fiorentina’s asking price, which stands at €70m (£60m).

Following Harry Kane’s decision to stay at Tottenham, the Citizens may well up their bid for Vlahovic if he is the Premier League champions’ main backup option.

The 21-year-old is likely to be one of a number of different alternatives that the Manchester club are considering, with reports today suggesting that Juventus’s Cristiano Ronaldo could even be on the list of targets.

Other teams, including Spurs, Arsenal and Inter Milan have been mentioned as possible suitors for Vlahovic but City would be clear favourites for his signature if they stump up the cash.
