Manchester City are the favourites to sign Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake, according to reports in France.
The Dutchman is also said to be on Tottenham’s radar, but the Citizens are believed to be in the lead to sign the centre-back for €40m (£36m).
Some supporters on Twitter think he would be a better choice than Leicester City’s Harry Maguire:
he will b a good signing to us

However, there a few who don’t believe that Ake is good enough for City:
Not for me

We don't have place for Ake

With Leicester apparently demanding in excess of £80m for Maguire, it does appear City are weighing up other potential options in their attempts to replace captain Vincent Kompany.
Whether Ake would be up to the task, it is debatable. The former Chelsea defender was part of a Bournemouth defence that conceded 70 goals last season.
While it would be harsh to blame the 24-year-old for the Cherries’ poor defensive record, it is a stark contrast to Maguire’s Leicester who let in 48.
