Manchester City will officially announce the signing of Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo later today, according to the Daily Mail. The Citizens will pay £27.5m plus Danilo for the Portuguese international.
The fullback has been one of manager Pep Guardiola’s key targets this summer and it seems that he has finally secured his man. Fans on Twitter are excited by the potential of the defender:
I honestly thought we wouldn’t sign anyone after rodri but this is actually a surprise signing

Cancelo’s prospective transfer to City has been in the works for a number of months, with negotiations having broken down a number of times. However, the 25-year-old looks set to compete with Kyle Walker for a first-team place this season.
Guardiola hasn’t always been happy with the England international’s level of performances and the arrival of Cancelo will no doubt increase competition.
The Portuguese defender is not the finished article but he is an attacking fullback and will be able to provide a threat from the right flank.
