Agent Responds When Asked If Key City Figure Could Be Set For Barca Return

The agent of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that a return to Barcelona for his client is currently out of the question.

The Spaniard has been linked with going back to the Catalan club but, when asked about the possibility, Josep Maria Orobitg said it was “currently impossible.” He then went on to confirm Guardiola’s plan was to remain at the Etihad Stadium:

“Yes, Pep will stay at City 100%.”

With Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman having succeeded Quique Setien in the hot seat at the Camp Nou, Guardiola’s name was only fleetingly linked with a return.

It also must be pointed out that there has been some talk in recent days that City will open talks with Guardiola over extending his stay at the club. The 49-year-old’s current contract expires at the end of next season, and it is hoped that he will commit his long term future to the Citizens in the coming weeks and months.
