Agent Reveals City Starlet Would Consider Switch To Serie A Side

Manchester City midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko’s agent has confirmed that the player would be open to a move to Napoli if offered the opportunity again.

Alan Prudnikov has revealed that the Serie A side tried to sign the Ukrainian international but failed to agree on a fee for the player:

“We are always open to proposals coming from Italy. Napoli showed interest both over the summer and the year before, but never managed to find an agreement with Manchester City.

“I met with [Napoli director Cristiano] Giuntoli and we laid down the foundations of a deal with Zinchenko, but the two clubs could not agree on a fee. We’d be ready to discuss it again, though.”

Zinchenko was also heavily linked with Wolves in the summer. The Midlands club reportedly agreed a £16m fee for the midfielder, only for the Ukrainian to turn down the move.

This season, the 21-year-old has featured just twice for Pep Guardiola’s side.  He played at left-back in the league win over Brighton a couple of weeks ago.

His only other game time came in the Carabao Cup against Oxford United, where he played as a left wing-back as City employed three at the back in the 3-0 victory.

Napoli would likely have to agree to pay the £16m that Wolves offered before deadline day in August, and we will see if there are any developments during the January transfer window.
