Agent Reveals Whether City Will Make Move For £53.6m Rated Copa America Ace

The agent of Gremio winger Everton has dismissed claims linking his client with a move to Manchester City.

Reports in Brazil had suggested that both City and United have enquired about the 23-year-old. However, speaking out on the rumours, Gilmar Veloz revealed he had spoken to Director of Football Txiki Begiristain but said there was no chance of a move happening:

“There is nothing. We have to be very careful, take responsibility with the fans, with me and the boy. We can’t create stories on something that does not exist.

“I’ve been there in January. In March, I went to see a game of the Portuguese Cup and I met Txiki. We talked. At this point, he has more attackers than he could have. There is no possibility of the sale.

Everton has been in excellent form for Brazil at the Copa America having scored two goals and provided one assist in four matches.

His release clause at Gremio is said to be €60m (£53.6m) but there had been reports that his club would be prepared to let him go for half that amount.

City are, though, fully stocked in wide areas with Leroy Sane, Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling as well as Bernardo Silva. It’s likely that one would have to be sold if City were to make a move for another winger.
