England and Newcastle legend Alan Shearer says Sergio Aguero is the best foreign player to ever have played in the Premier League.

Aguero hit his 146th top flight goal at the weekend when he completed a brilliant hat-trick in Manchester City’s 6-1 thrashing of Huddersfield Town.

The Argentine also netted twice as City swept aside Chelsea 2-0 in the Community Shield earlier in the month, the first of which marked his 200th club goal for the Citizens since joining from Atletico Madrid back in 2011.

“Sergio Aguero is now on nine Premier League hat-tricks and only two behind me,” said Shearer.

“The best foreign player to ever play in the Premier League. A great centre-forward with no weaknesses.”

Aguero now sits only 29 goals behind fifth placed Thierry Henry in the all-time Premier League goalscoring charts.

The France and Arsenal legend is the top flight’s highest ever foreign goalscorer having found the net 175 times over just 258 games in two spells with the Gunners between 1999-2012.
