Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has revealed he would ‘love’ to see fellow countryman Lionel Messi join him at the Etihad and sign for the Sky Blues.
Messi is a player who needs no introduction, the 29-year-old is arguably one of the greatest players ever and will forever be remembered as the best of his generation.
Compatriot Aguero has played alongside Messi for Argentina, and knows all about the Barcelona forward’s exploits. Aguero has admitted he would be a big fan of his club signing Messi, saying that money is no issue for City. However he did admit that a deal would be ‘complicated’.
“The money isn’t a problem here,” Aguero told TyC Sport.
“But I think Messi, like [Cristiano] Ronaldo, are players who are symbols of their clubs and it’s difficult for them to leave.
“I would love to have Leo on my team, but that seems quite complicated.”

Messi’s buy-out clause stands at a whopping £268.7m, a world record fee if it was to be activated. But signing a player of Messi’s calibre would be an outstanding statement from Manchester City, and would surely put them onto the next level in terms of brand image.
City certainly aren’t shy of splashing the cash, and maybe Messi wouldn’t be too much to ask for the Sky Blues after all – especially given the relationship between the Argentine and his former boss Guardiola.
