Andy Cole Reveals Why He Has Changed His View On Who Will Win The Premier League Title

Ex-Manchester City forward Andy Cole believes that his former club could find it hard to hold off Liverpool in the title race.

Cole, who played for both Manchester clubs in his career, says that he firmly believed that the Citizens had the title wrapped up, but the form of Jurgen Klopp side’s in recent months has changed his opinion:

“They have massive momentum. here Liverpool have come from. I said before ‘it’s over. Manchester City will run away with it’. If Liverpool go to the Etihad and win, for me, they are in pole position. Knowing they have gone to Man City, beat them and then keep winning football matches. It’s as simple as that.”

“Being in that position. When you are chasing, you go to that team, to their home ground and beat them. Then, it makes you feel invincible. They have been frightening. People have said ‘they haven’t played well’. Fair enough, but if you are still winning football matches, then that’s what it’s like to become champions.”

One way City can halt that momentum is by getting a result against the Reds at the Etihad this weekend. It won’t be easy as they have a tough game against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League beforehand, but you’d back Pep Guardiola and his team to rise to the challenge.

They have shown how strong they are, particularly domestically, in recent years and they do have a very good record against Liverpool at home, with the Reds having not won there since the arrival of Guardiola. It will be a titanic tussle with the victors becoming favourites for the title.
