Aston Villa V Manchester City: Preview, Predicted XI And Betting Odds

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne is fit to play against Aston Villa. The Belgian was substituted in the 3-1 win over rivals Manchester United on Tuesday but he will be available to play on Sunday.

The Citizens only have two fitness issues heading into the weekend. Aymeric Laporte is closing in on a return to fitness, but he is not yet ready following his recovery from a knee injury. Leroy Sane (knee) is still some weeks away from making his comeback.

City’s Predicted XI To Face Aston Villa:

Ederson, Walker, Fernandinho, Otamendi, Mendy, De Bruyne, Rodri, David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Aguero, Sterling

Villa boss Dean Smith is currently without two goalkeepers in Tom Heaton (knee) and Jed Steer (Achilles), while Wesley Moraes (knee) is out for the season. Keinan Davis (hamstring) and John McGinn (ankle) are also unavailable but Matt Targett should have recovered fully from his hamstring problem to feature at Villa Park.

Jonathan Kodjia remains a major doubt due to illness so the Villans may not be able to field a recognised striker this weekend.

Villa’s Predicted XI:

Nyland, Guilbert, Konsa, Mings, Hause, Targett, Nakamba, Douglas Luiz, Trezeguet, El Ghazi, Grealish

The bookies have City as clear favourites with 888 Sport pricing them at 1/6. A draw is currently 8/1 with Betfred while a Villa victory is 17/1 at Betfair.

Predicted Score – 3-1 to City
