Manchester City are considering making a bid for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the English media.

Arsenal are believed to be the team leading the battle to sign the player, while it is also said that the likes of Liverpool, West Ham, Tottenham and Everton are keeping tabs on the Malian international.

Brighton are expected to demand as much as £40m for Bissouma but fans on Twitter believe the 24-year-old would be worth the money:

It’s likely that Bissouma is being eyed just in case Fernandinho decides to leave the Etihad at the end of the season. The 36-year-old has been offered a one-year contract extension but the Brazilian has yet to make a decision on his future.

Reports in recent days have also linked West Ham’s Declan Rice as a possible alternative but the England international’s £100m price tag means Bissouma would be the much cheaper option.
