Manchester City attacking midfielder Phil Foden is now earning more than £200,000 a week after signing a new contract, according to reports.
The 22-year-old put pen to paper on a new deal a few days ago, keeping him at the Etihad until 2027, and fans on Twitter are not surprised that the Premier League champions have offered the player such generous terms:

If he hits his potential ceiling and stays there, you could almost double it and it would be worth it.

Considering Kevin De Bruyne earns £400,000 a week, tieing down Foden for his best players on a wage that is half that amount is pretty good going.
With the England international having made his way through the academy at City after being born in the area, he was never likely to press for a move away from the Premier League champions but supporters will be delighted that his future has now been resolved.
Foden has been in excellent form at the start of this season, with seven goals and three assists to his name in just 13 appearances so far.
