Bayern Munich are prepared to pay between €60m (£52m) and €70m (£60m) to sign Manchester City winger Leroy Sane, according to reports in the German media.
Although it is a notable drop on the reported €100m (£88m) they were looking to offer last summer, they are not bad numbers considering the 24-year-old’s contract situation.
Sane only has thirteen months left on his current deal at the Etihad Stadium, and he could sign a pre-contract agreement with Bayern as early as January to move back to Germany on a free transfer next year.
City fans will be hoping that the club can persuade the German international to put pen to paper on a new deal, but there has been no indication that an extension is close to being signed.
Bayern have done all they can to unsettle Sane, with one recent report even claiming that the Bundesliga side’s manager Hansi Flick has talked to the player over the phone. His time at the Citizens could well be coming to an end.
