Bayern Make First Move For 36M Rated Swiss Star As They Seek To Beat City, Chelsea And United

Bayern Munich have made contact with the representatives of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to reports in the German media.

The Bundesliga champions were linked with the Swiss international, along with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea, last month, and it seems they are now positioning themselves at the front of the queue for the 23-year-old.

Zakaria was on Bayern’s radar in the summer but, with the player still recovering from a knee problem, the club opted to sign Marc Roca from Espanyol instead.

However, with the Gladbach star now back fully fit, it seems they could make their move for the midfielder at the end of the season. City could look to beat Bayern to the player’s signature by moving their planned €40m (£36m) bid to January but there is no indication so far that the Citizens will up their interest before the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
