Chelsea opted against pursuing Sergio Aguero after captain John Terry told the club’s hierarchy that he wasn’t impressed with the Argentine’s movement, according to The Athletic (paywall).
The striker was at Atletico Madrid at the time when the Blues reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign the player. He then went on to move to Manchester City where he has become a club legend.
Needless to say, City fans have found the revelation about Terry and Aguero pretty amusing:
Can't stop laughing ?????

Considering how many goals Aguero has scored for City, it will go down a massive error of judgement by Terry and Chelsea. Since arriving at the Etihad Stadium in 2011, the Argentinian international has gone on to score 244 goals and provide 71 assists in just 353 appearances.
The 31-year-old is 67 goals ahead of Eric Brook in the club’s all-time leading scorer list, and he is likely to extend the gap significantly before he finally leaves the Citizens.
