Chelsea Have Made Another City Player Their “Real Target” After Cooling Their Interest In Gabriel Jesus

Chelsea have prioritised a move for Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling ahead of Gabriel Jesus, according to Sky Sports News.

Both players have one year left on their contracts but, while Arsenal are pressing ahead in their attempts to sign Jesus, it is thought that despite the Brazilian also being on Chelsea’s list of options, their “real target” is Sterling:

Reports have suggested that City would hold out for at least £60m if they were to sell Sterling this summer. The Premier League champions are still hopeful of persuading the 27-year-old into signing an extension but, so far, the winger has not returned to the negotiating table.

It was believed that Sterling would make a decision on his future after international duty with England but, so far, there has been no word about whether he wants to stay or leave the Etihad.

Chelsea are unlikely to make their move before offloading Romelu Lukaku. The Blues are currently in talks to send the Belgian back to Inter Milan on loan.
