Chris Sutton Makes Bold Score Prediction As City Take On Chelsea

Ex-Chelsea striker Chris Sutton is expecting his former team to be battered when they take on Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday evening.

The BBC pundit says he was extremely impressed with Pep Guardiola’s side’s performance against Real Madrid midweek, and he is backing them to thrash their opponents this weekend and clinch the Premier League title:

“They are going to want to go out and smash Chelsea regardless of whether they need to win this game to seal a hat-trick of titles. That’s what I think will happen, too. From what I have seen of Chelsea, they don’t have an identity, or much of a plan. They have got some very good individual players but they are not a team and there are times when they look like a mess. City will make some changes and bring in people like Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Julian Alvarez, but they will still win easily.”

Sutton has gone with a 5-0 victory to City, which is a very bold prediction, but it is borne out from the fact that Guardiola’s men are playing so well at the moment.

Jack Grealish spoke out after the win over Madrid that the team feel “unstoppable” and, while that may be an exaggeration, they should have more than enough to overcome a rather tame Chelsea team.

The Blues did not manage to build on their victory over Bournemouth, after being held at home by Nottingham Forest, and they are unlikely to put up a lot of resistance. With everything being equal, City should secure the three points they need.
