City Ace Scores 11th Goal In Ten Games As Club Secure League Cup Group Stage Victory

Manchester City Women striker Khadija Shaw was once again on the scoresheet as the Citizens secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Sunderland in the FA Women’s League Cup yesterday.

The Jamaican international scored the third of the afternoon at the Manchester City Academy Stadium, following up goals from Julie Blakstad and Hayley Raso.

Shaw now has 11 in just 10 appearances this season. She is currently the joint-top scorer in the Women’s Super League, along with Aston Villa’s Rachel Daly, while she has also bagged two in the Champions League.

The victory over Sunderland means City have two wins from two in their League Cup group. They currently sit second, three points behind Liverpool who have played a game more.

City manager Gareth Taylor will be looking to carry on this seven-match winning run in all competitions when they take on Brighton this weekend. You wouldn’t bet against Shaw being amongst the goals once more on Sunday.
