City Among Three Clubs Keeping Tabs On Unsettled Chelsea Star’s Situation

Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are monitoring Chelsea attacking midfielder Mason Mount’s situation, according to reports in the Spanish media.

Speculation in the English press over the weekend claimed that the 22-year-old is becoming increasingly unsettled at Stamford Bridge. There are believed to be two factors behind his supposed unhappiness.

Mount feels he is still being treated as a youth player rather than as a senior member of the first-team squad, while his contract (which runs until 2024), sees him earn a fraction of what others are being paid.

Negotiations over doubling his salary from £75,000 a week are reportedly underway and it’s likely why this story about his future has come out now, with his agent or another third party possibly trying to force Chelsea into meeting their wage demands.

While City would probably be interested in taking Mount to the Etihad if he were available, it doesn’t seem like a realistic prospect currently.
