City And Chelsea Could Sign 70M Portuguese Speedster As Early As January Following Latest Development

AC Milan may have to consider selling Rafael Leao as early as January to prevent his valuation from dropping even further, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website reports that Manchester City and Chelsea are keeping tabs on the Portuguese international’s contract negotiations with talks having seemingly reached an impasse.

“No meetings” are planned in the “coming weeks” between the Rossoneri and Leao’s representatives, meaning the Serie A club are now in a situation where they will have to make a decision about the player’s future ahead of the next transfer window.

The 23-year-old has just over eighteen months remaining on his current deal and Calciomercato claim that Milan may not even be able to get €80m (£70m) for the pacey winger, due to the fact that no extension has been agreed.

Both Gianluigi Donnarumma and Franck Kessie have left on free transfers previously, and the Italian side are not prepared to let the same happen to Leao, so a sale will have to be seriously considered.
