City And Chelsea Set For £60m Battle Over 23 Year Old But Guardiola’s Future Could Prove Crucial

Manchester City and Chelsea are looking to sign Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell, according to i news. The website claims the 23-year-old will be the subject of a fierce transfer battle next summer.

The Foxes are looking for at least £60m for the England international, with the player having signed a new contract just over a year ago.

Chilwell’s future could, however, depend on whether City manager Pep Guardiola decides to stay at the Etihad Stadium.

The Spaniard has one year left on his current deal with the Citizens and it is believed Chilwell wants to know whether he will remain at the club before making a final decision on his next destination. The suggestion is that the defender would be more interested in joining City if he knows Guardiola is staying put.

Neither club are likely to have much luck in trying sign the left-back in January, though, with Leicester only prepared to let one senior player go per season. They have already sold Harry Maguire to Manchester United this campaign.
