City And Liverpool Set To Battle It Out For £63m Brazilian Teenage Sensation

Liverpool have joined Manchester City and Everton in pursuing Flamengo attacking midfielder Reinier, according to the Daily Mail.

Reports in Brazil have previously claimed that the Citizens had been monitoring the player but it appears they will have competition from other Premier League clubs.

Reinier is said to have a €70m (£63m) release clause but the 17-year-old’s contract expires in 18 months time and Flamengo have been unable to agree a new deal.

Everton have also made an enquiry for the Brazilian but reports that the Toffees have made a bid for the player have been denied by Brazilian officials.

AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly keen on Reinier with scouts from a number of teams likely to be in attendance when he plays for Brazil’s Under 17s this week.

The teenager usually plays as a number 10 but he has yet to make his senior debut for Flamengo, and won’t be able to sign for another club until he turns 18.
