City close to sealing sensational £100 million double transfer

Manchester City are close to sealing deals for both Riyad Mahrez and Jorginho, according to reports.

City have been heavily linked with both players in recent months, and it is understood deals for the pair could be completed as early as next week.

Mahrez has been a long-standing target of City’s – with the Manchester club trying to sign him both last summer and in January. City had a bid of around £90 million rejected for Mahrez by Leicester City earlier this year, despite the Algerian handing in a transfer request at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester are now however understood to have eased their stance on Mahrez, and are prepared to allow him to leave for a fee of around £60 million.

Mahrez joined the Foxes in 2014 from French side Le Havre, and has since scored 48 goals in 179 appearances. He was also named the PFA Player of the Year in 2015/16 as Leicester City won the Premier League title.

Napoli star Jorginho signed for the Serie A runners-up in 2014, and has since impressed with his versatile performances in midfield.

The Italy international scored against City in the Champions League last season, catching the eye of Pep Guardiola in the process, who has since been adamant to land the talented 26-year-old.

Jorginho is expected to cost City around £40 million.
