City complete deadline day wonderkid signing!

Manchester City have completed the signing of Australia international Daniel Arzani from Melbourne City.

The midfielder is one of Australia’s most promising stars, and represented his country at this summer’s World Cup.

He won the A-League’s young player of the season award during the 2017/18 season, and becomes the second player after Aaron Mooy to move to City after a successful period in Melbourn.

The Iranian born midfielder is not expected to join up with City’s first team though, and is touted to sign for Celtic on a two year loan.

City Football Group’s managing director of global football, Brian Marwood, told the club’s official website: “In a short period of time, Daniel has developed into one of Australia’s brightest young stars and has demonstrated the drive and raw talent required for success at the highest level.

“This pathway was first forged by Aaron Mooy just two years ago, and we are all delighted to see another Australian-grown talent make this move.”

Arzani has five caps for Australia and became the became the youngest player ever to make a World Cup appearance for them when he played as a substitute in their group matches against France, Denmark and Peru this summer.
