City Consider Using Sancho Clause In Bid To Reduce Key Target’s 127M Asking Price

Manchester City are weighing up whether to offer up their sell-on clause on Jadon Sancho in order to reduce Erling Haaland‘s asking price, according to reports in England.

The Citizens are said to be due 15% of the transfer fee when Sancho is sold, and that could amount to as much as £16m were the England international to be offloaded for a price above £100m this summer.

Borussia Dortmund could, therefore, be willing to decrease Haaland’s valuation as a result, although it is still unlikely to be a figure that City would be prepared to pay.

The Manchester club are aware that they will need to break their transfer record to get the Norwegian international, and they have made him their number one target after deciding Sergio Aguero can leave on a free transfer.

However, there is still the fear that they could miss out on Haaland to the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, who may well be willing to pay over the odds for the striker. Whether the Sancho clause could play an important role in aiding City’s attempts, we shall have to wait and see.
