City Considering Double Midfield Raid On Champions League Group Opponents

Manchester City are interested in signing Lyon pair Tanguy Ndombele and Lucas Tousart, according to reports in England.

The Ligue One side will face the Citizens at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, and manager Pep Guardiola will be able to assess the duo up close with both expected to start the Champions League game.

Ndombele only joined Lyon permanently in the summer, following a year-long loan spell from Amiens, but the 21-year-old is a regular first-team player, having started the French club’s first five games this season.

Tousart meanwhile, joined back in 2015 and has established himself as the Ligue One team’s first choice holding midfield player over the past two years.

Neither player has made their breakthrough to France’s senior side and are currently part of the Under 21 setup. Yet, both have been heavily scouted by top European clubs with Tottenham having reportedly registered their interest in Ndombele earlier this year.
