City Could Now Sign Brazilian International Playmaker For 22M Below His Original Asking Price

Lyon are now open to selling playmaker Lucas Paqueta for just £33m this summer, according to reports in the English media.

The Brazilian international is said to be Manchester City’s main target if Bernardo Silva is sold, but his original price tag was believed to be a lot higher at €65m (£55m).

Cutting £22m off the valuation would be a very surprising decision, considering the number of clubs that have been tracking Paqueta over the past few months.

In addition to City, both Arsenal and Newcastle have expressed strong interest in the 24-year-old so he isn’t exactly short of suitors.

Considering Pep Guardiola’s side are reportedly demanding a fee close to €100m for Silva, though, it seems they could still make a very healthy profit, even if they do recruit Paqueta as his replacement.

The midfielder has been capped 33 times by Brazil, and he is likely to be a key player for his country at the Qatar World Cup later this year.
