City Could Now Sign Croatian World Cup Star For Less Than £88M But Only On One Condition

RB Leipzig will consider selling Manchester City target Josko Gvardiol for less than €100m (£88m) this summer if they miss out on Champions League qualification, according to reports in Germany.

The Bundesliga club are very reluctant to sell another one of their key players, having already sanctioned the sale of Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea.

However, Leipzig’s finances would take a big hit if they fail to get into the Champions League, and it could force them into offloading Gvardiol.

The defender, who starred for Croatia at the World Cup, is being pursued by both City and Real Madrid, with the two teams having stepped up talks with the player’s representatives in recent months.

A lot, though, will depend on Leipzig’s situation. The German side are currently on course to finish fourth but they are just a point above Freiburg in the table. We shall see where they end up by the end of the season.
