City Dealt Setback As Sporting Director Confirms Likely Madrid Switch For £52m Rated Hotshot

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic has confirmed that Real Madrid are the firm favourites to sign striker Luka Jovic.

Manchester City have been scouting the Serbian international, along with the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, but it seems a move to La Liga is on the cards. Bobic said:

“There’s a real possibility that Jovic signs for Real Madrid. I hope and want him to stay here at Eintracht, but I’m also realistic and know that if a big club like Real want him then we haven’t got a chance of keeping him.”

Jovic has been in superb form for Frankfurt this season, having hit the back of the net 25 times in all competitions. The 21-year-old has been on loan from Benfica but the Bundesliga club have made his move permanent for just €7m. Whether the forward moves on it still up for debate but according to many bookies it is expected that Frankfurt will look to sell Jovic for a massive profit with reports having suggested a €60m (£52m) asking price for the Serbian marksman.

Madrid are said to be looking to strengthen their forward line with manager Zinedine Zidane also reportedly keen on a move for Chelsea winger Eden Hazard this summer.
