City Handed Big Boost As Aguero Is Pictured In Team Training Ahead Of Arsenal Clash

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero appears to be closing in on a return to first-team action after being pictured in training with his teammates ahead of this weekend’s game against Arsenal:

With Kevin De Bruyne having to withdraw from international duty with Belgium, and Raheem Sterling having picked up a hamstring problem, City’s injury problems are beginning to mount so Aguero’s return to fitness is timely. The Argentinian international has been slowly building up his fitness after undergoing knee surgery over the summer.

The fact that he hasn’t played any football since June would suggest that he is unlikely to start at the Etihad this weekend. A place on the bench, though, cannot be ruled out.

Manager Pep Guardiola is desperately short of options up front with Gabriel Jesus having also sustained an injury in recent weeks. Ilkay Gundogan should be back for the weekend, but Oleksandr Zinchenko is said to be still struggling with an ongoing fitness issue.
