City Have Sterling Replacement In Their Sights As They Consider Swoop For 35M Rated Ex Arsenal Player

Manchester City have entered the race to sign Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry, according to reports in the English media.

The ex-Arsenal player has a year left on his contract at the Bundesliga champions but there has been little progress in talks over an extension.

It means Bayern could be open to letting Gnabry leave before the transfer window closes, with £35m likely to be enough to secure the winger’s services.

Pep Guardiola’s side will face competition for the 26-year-old, though. Manchester United and Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the player, while his former team Arsenal have also been mentioned as potential suitors.

With Raheem Sterling likely to join Chelsea, it appears Gnabry has been identified as a potential replacement. It’s a deal that could prove to be really beneficial for City.

They could earn more money from Sterling’s sale than it would cost to sign the German, while he is also a year younger than his English counterpart.
