City In Pole Position To Sign 68M Rated Serie A Hitman Who Guardiola Believes Is The Perfect Centre Forward

Manchester City remain favourites to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Serbian has been linked with a €100m (£85m) switch to Newcastle in recent days, while the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Juventus are also said to be interested in the player.

However, the Citizens are believed to be leading the race for Vlahovic’s signature, with manager Pep Guardiola reportedly believing the 21-year-old is the ideal forward for his team.

Vlahovic is in high demand, with the Serbian international leading Serie A’s goalscoring charts this season, and Fiorentina are unlikely to sell him on the cheap.

While the reports of a bid from Newcastle are thought to be inaccurate, Vlahovic will still cost a sizeable sum, with the majority of news outlets claiming that he is valued at around €80m (£68m). A move in the January transfer window is unlikely but, if City are as keen on the player as this latest story suggests, then they might well go after him next month.
