City Join Chelsea In Race To Sign Croatian Teenage Prodigy

Manchester City have joined Chelsea and Villarreal in tracking Dinamo Zagreb winger Antonio Marin, according to Sky Sports. The 18-year-old starred for the Under 19 side in the UEFA Youth League match against City last week.

The Croatian provided the assist for Leon Sipos to make it 1-1 after City starlet Tommy Doyle put the home side 1-0 up in the first half. He then went on to play the full 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw.

Marin has already made his senior debut for Dinamo. He came on as a substitute in the 3-1 win over Inter Zapresic at the back end of the 2017/18 season.

The midfielder then went on to make eight senior appearances last campaign, as well as appearing regularly for the Under 19s in the UEFA Youth League. He helped Dinamo to the quarter-finals where his side lost out to Liverpool on penalties, despite scoring a brace during the game.

This season, Marin has played four games for the first team. He generally plays on the left-hand side of a front three, cutting in onto to his right foot, but he can also play on the right-wing.
