Manchester City have been in contact with the agent of Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to reports in the Italian media.

It is said that the forward’s representative, Darko Ristic, has already received calls from the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid, but it appears the Citizens have now also registered their interest.

Vlahovic has been in excellent form for Fiorentina this season, having scored 19 goals in 33 league appearances. The 21-year-old may well be seen as a potential alternative to Erling Haaland by City, if they are priced out of a move for the Norwegian international.

Reports suggest that Vlahovic will cost at least €50m (£43m) but the competition for the Serbian’s signature may see that figure go even higher.

For their part, Fiorentina would be keen to keep the forward, and the Serie A club will look to offer the player a new contract in order to ward off potential suitors. Whether such a deal can be agreed, though, we shall have to wait and see.
