City Join PL Rivals In Pursuing French Star Who They See As A ‘Cheaper’ Alternative To Gvardiol

Manchester City are keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka, according to 90min.com.

The former France Under 21 international is out of contract at the end of the season and he is expected to be available on a free transfer.

Ndicka’s situation has attracted the interest of other Premier League teams. Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle have been mentioned as possible suitors but it appears Liverpool are the likeliest to make a move for the centre-back.

90min believe that the Citizens are mainly interested in Ndicka as a “cheaper” alternative to Josko Gvardiol. The Croatian spoke out last week to say that he doesn’t expect to leave RB Leipzig this summer, with the Bundesliga club “not interested” in selling the player.

Considering Gvardiol could cost in excess of £100m, Ndicka would certainly be the more economical option. We shall see if the Premier League champions do step up their interest.
