Inter Milan could be set to rival Manchester City and Manchester United for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to reports in Italy.

The Serie A side are said to be monitoring the 22-year-old’s situation, although they have been put off by the player’s reported asking price.

Lyon are looking to hold out for €80m (£72m) for Ndombele which would likely take the Nerazzurri out of the running for the midfielder.

Such a figure would certainly not deter the Citizens, but it isn’t likely that they will make their move during the January transfer window.

City boss Pep Guardiola told reporters at his pre-match press conference for the Liverpool game today that he is currently happy with the players at his disposal, although he did not explicitly rule out any dealings this month:

“I’ve answered this question so many times. No news. Maybe my opinion will change tomorrow, but I’m happy with the players I have.”

Ndombele has had an excellent season so far for Lyon, having scored two goals and contributed five assists in 25 games.
