City Keeping A Close Eye On ‘New David Silva’ Available For £13.3m

Manchester City are keeping tabs on GD Chaves midfielder Stephen Eustaquio, according to the Daily Mail.

The Portuguese international has been compared to David Silva with City said to be watching the 21-year-old’s progress closely.

However, it seems the Citizens may have a battle on their hands to land Eustaquio with Sporting Lisbon reportedly already having made an opening offer for the player.

Real Betis and Barcelona are also believed to be tracking the Portuguese Under 21 international with the midfielder tipped to go on to make a name for himself in the game.

City could steal a march on their rivals, however, if they pay Eustaquio’s buyout fee. His release clause is said to be €15m (£13.3m) which the Manchester club would have no trouble matching.

The midfielder only moved to Chaves from Leixoes in January but he quickly established himself in the first team, playing as a holding midfielder in the Portuguese top flight.
