City Look To Steal March On Rivals With £34m Move For Newly Capped Spain Playmaker

Manchester City are lining up a €40m (£34m) bid for Dinamo Zagreb attacking midfielder Dani Olmo, according to Sportske Novosti. The Croatian publication claims a move for the 21-year-old will be made in January.

The Spaniard, who has also been linked with Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham, has been in excellent form this season, having scored six goals and provided six assists in 17 appearances.

Olmo’s performances were rewarded with a call up to Spain’s senior side this month, and he made a dream debut after scoring as a substitute in the 7-0 win over Malta on Friday night.

The midfielder generally plays in the number 10 role and he played the full 90 minutes when City faced Dinamo in the Champions League group stage match back at the start of October.

Olmo could be being targeted as a potential replacement for David Silva who is leaving at the end of his contract in the summer.
