City Plotting £18m Move For Brazilian Teenage Sensation But They Don’t Plan On Keeping Him

Manchester City are considering a bid for Sao Paulo winger Antony, according to reports in Portugal.

The Citizens are close to agreeing a partnership with Sporting Lisbon which could see a number of young players join the Portuguese club.

As part of that deal, City could look to snap up Antony and send him out on loan to Sporting ahead of next season.

The Brazilian teenager could cost a fair amount. He currently has a €50m (£44m) buyout clause but Sao Paulo may settle for a fee in the region of €20m (£18m).

Antony has only made 10 senior appearances for his club and would benefit from more experience before being introduced into City’s first team.

A switch to Sporting could help the 19-year-old get more game time before returning to play for the club in the Premier League.

Antony recently made his debut for Brazil’s Under 23s earlier this month, playing 76 minutes in a 4-0 friendly win over Guatemala.
