City Preparing Summer Swoop For Bosnian Midfield General But Chelsea Could Scupper Their Plans

Manchester City and Chelsea are both interested in signing Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, according to reports in the Italian media.

The 29-year-old has been everpresent in manager Maurizio Sarri’s side this season, but the Serie A club are considering whether to cash in on the player in the summer.

Pjanic could still bring in a sizeable transfer fee, and with the Bosnian now closing in on his 30th birthday, Juve believe this could well be the best time to offload the midfielder.

Technically gifted on the ball, there is no doubt that Pjanic would be able to fit into manager Pep Guardiola’s system, with the Citizens seemingly keen on signing someone who can dictate play from a deep-lying midfield role.

Brescia’s Sandro Tonali has also been mentioned as a possible target in recent days, and with both players playing similar positions, it does appear that City are actively looking for a new anchor man.
