City Set To Launch 95M Raid To Sign Two Players Next Summer

Manchester City are considering offering £95m to sign Aston Villa pair Jack Grealish and Douglas Luiz, according to reports in the English media.

Manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his admiration for Grealish in the past and the playmaker’s excellent form this season may lead to the Citizens making a formal bid for the England international next summer.

Grealish, who is also reportedly a target for City’s rivals Manchester United, is believed to be valued at around £70m by Villa and it remains to be seen whether he would be tempted to leave his hometown club.

The deal for Douglas Luiz is more straightforward to complete. City sold the Brazilian to Villa for £15m at the start of last season but they still hold an option to buy back the player for only £25m.

He has quickly established himself at Villa Park, having made 50 appearances for Dean Smith’s side since the beginning of the 2019/2020 campaign.
