City Star Beats Pogba And Saka To Be Named PL Fans Player Of The Month For January

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been named the GiveMeSport Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month for January.

The German international received 24% of the vote, with Burnley’s Nick Pope coming second (20%) and Paul Pogba in third (18%). Spurs’s Harry Kane was fourth, while Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka came fifth, with West Ham centre-back Craig Dawson in sixth.

Gundogan scored an incredible five goals in six league appearances last month, with the Citizens winning every single game as they stretched their lead over their rivals at the top of the table.

Considering he provided an assist in the 2-0 win over Burnley, and scored another brace in the 4-1 victory against Liverpool yesterday, the 30-year-old could be on course to get the award for a second month in a row if he continues his excellent form.

Gundogan hadn’t even scored in the Premier League until mid-December but he now has nine goals in 17 appearances for City.
