Manchester City midfielder Rodri has been named in WhoScored.com‘s team of the week following his excellent performance at the weekend.
The Spanish international scored with a howitzer as he helped the Citizens secure a very comfortable 3-0 victory over Everton at the Etihad yesterday afternoon.
Rodri was, though, surprisingly the only City player to make the eleven, with the other ten names being taken from eight separate Premier League clubs.
Chelsea pair N’Golo Kante and Ben Chilwell were selected, along with Tottenham’s number one Hugo Lloris, Aston Villa captain Tyrone Mings, Burnley defender James Tarkowski, Newcastle United’s Joelinton, Crystal Palace forward Christian Benteke and Watford’s Joshua King.
Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and forward Sadio Mane made up the rest of the team, having played key roles in the Reds’ 4-0 win against Arsenal.
City fans will, though, be delighted with Rodri’s inclusion, with the 25-year-old having been in excellent form over recent weeks.
