City Star ‘On The Verge’ Of Sealing 45M Chelsea Switch With Four Year Contract Agreed

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is “on the verge” of securing a £45m move to Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.

It is believed that talks between the two teams have accelerated over the past few days with Chelsea keen to have a deal wrapped up by the end of the week.

Sterling is reportedly set to sign a four-year contract with Thomas Tuchel’s side after making it clear that he wasn’t interested in extending his current deal at the Etihad Stadium.

City have always been adamant that they wanted to recoup £90m from the sales of both Sterling and Gabriel Jesus, despite the fact that the two players only had twelve months remaining on their contracts.

With Jesus poised to join the Gunners for a similar fee, it appears the Premier League champions have managed to get what they wanted. Some of the money is expected to be reinvested in a move to sign Marc Cucurella from Brighton.
